Unclogging Kitchen Sink Drain
Use the bucket or another vessel to remove the standing water and get access to the drain opening.
Unclogging kitchen sink drain. Then flush the drain with nearly boiling water. Pour one cup of fresh baking soda down the drain followed by one cup of white vinegar. Now wiggle it up and down while twisting it to remove the clog.
Allow the mixture to stand for a few hours and then flush it down using boiling water. Pour three tablespoons of liquid dish soap into a pot of hot water and stir the mixture. Place a rubber stopper or other sink hole cover over the drain opening.
A baking soda mixture offers a way to unclog a sink naturally as it proves gentler on your pipes compared to chemical drain openers. Run water in the clogged sink to tell if you ve removed the obstruction. Push the bent hanger down the drain.
It takes at least 15 minutes to work. Then twist and pull until you feel it hook onto the baffle. For badly clogged drains you can leave.
Pour it slowly down the drain and flush with hot tap water. Wait for all the water to drain out of the sink or tub then pour the bottle of liquid plumr slowly down the drain. This is another mixture that you can use to unclog a drain or sink.
There are various manual and electric powered drain snakes available but for kitchen sinks the most surefire tool is a small powered drain snake which looks like a power drill with a drum attached to the front. When a kitchen sink clog cannot be cleared by using a plunger or by removing the trap the next approach is to snake the drain. The p trap is at the curve of the drainpipe under the sink usually inside a cabinet.
